February
- 2 February – A referendum on Gagauzia's independence from Moldova is held with 98.9 percent of voters supporting Gagauzia's self-determination.[1] The authorities from Chișinău declare it illegal.[2]
- 27 February – The European Parliament votes to approve abolishing visa requirements for citizens of Moldova who have biometric passports.[3][4]
March
- 11 March – Transnistrian authorities bans the holding of a rally in support of pro-Russian forces in Crimea and southeastern Ukraine.[5]
- 15 March – Amid annexation of the Crimean Peninsula by Russia, Ukraine seal its border with Moldova in the breakaway Transnistrian region for Russian males.[6][7]
- 18 March – Mikhail Burla, President of the so-called Supreme Soviet in Tiraspol, asks the Chairman of the State Duma, Sergey Naryshkin, to consider drafting a law that would permit Transnistria's possible accession to Russia.[8][9]
- 25 March – The Bashkan of Gagauzia, Mikhail Formuzal, and the President of People's Assembly in Comrat, Dmitry Konstantinov, visit Russia to sign a twinning agreement with the Moscow region.[10]
