Terrorism glorification

Interviews where the Kuwaiti figure was shown glorifying terrorists and discussing attacks on the US were widely shared on different social media platforms. He incited killing against Americans by saying that four pounds of Anthrax “carried by a guerrilla to transfer it through the tunnels of Mexico to the US can kill 330,000 US citizens in one hour,”. In another clip, Al- Nafisi says that what the US calls “terrorists'' are “friends.” “Why? Because these ‘terrorists’ are the most pious and honorable people in the world,” he said. On February 2, 2009, he gave a speech which aired on Al-Jazeera TV in which he recommended biological and nuclear attacks on the United States, and in which he praised terrorists like Mullah Omar as "the world's most God-fearing people.[5][6]

In 2020, Kuwaiti authorities summoned Abdullah Al-Nafisi, for investigation into a charge of “insulting the UAE” on the basis of a tweet he posted in 2017.[7] Al-Nafisi affirmed his keenness to attend without absence or delay in all cases he was brought before the prosecution and the judiciary according to the Kuwaiti press.[8]

Al-Nafisi said on his Twitter account that on January 5, he received a decision to arrest and detain him as well as enforce a ban travel in connection with the case brought by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs against him, indicating that he had not received any notice of the case during the period leading up to the last judicial procedure.[9]
