American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story is an upcoming American biographical film directed by Andrew and Jon Erwin. It tells the story of NFL quarterback Kurt Warner.[1] Produced by the Kingdom Story Company, and starring Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, Dennis Quaid, and Virginia Madsen. the film is scheduled to be released on December 10, 2021, by Lionsgate.

Premise

American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story chronicles the true story of Kurt Warner, who went from stocking shelves at a supermarket to become a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and Hall of Fame quarterback.[2][3]

Production

The film was announced in February 2020, when Andrew and Jon Erwin were hired to direct the film.[4] In September 2020, it was announced Zachary Levi would star as Warner.[5][6] In January 2021, Anna Paquin, Dennis Quaid. and Virginia Madsen were among the additional cast added to the film.[7][8]

Filming began on January 25, 2021 and will conclude on March 6. It will shoot in Atlanta and Oklahoma City.[9]

Release

It is scheduled to be released on December 10, 2021.[10][11][12] It was previously scheduled to be released on December 18, 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
