Badwater, California
Badwater is an unincorporated community in Inyo County, California.[1] It is located in Death Valley 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Bennetts Well,[2] at an elevation of -266 feet (-81 m).[1] Badwater is the lowest elevation settlement in North America, near Badwater Basin, which contains the lowest point in North America.

Badwater is also known for being the start of the Badwater 135 Ultramarathon, billed as the toughest foot race on the planet.[3]
