Domestic career
Rohrer made his debut against Tasmania in March 2007 and scored a century in his debut, the first player to do so since 1993/94. He did this in the second innings after surviving a hat-trick ball from Ben Hilfenhaus in the first innings and getting out for five in NSW's score of 53. He played his second game in the final making NSW's second highest score of 30 as Tasmania won the shield convincingly. He earned a contract for the 2007/08 season but did not play any games.
Rohrer played five first class games last season, scoring 322 runs at an average of 46, including a 53 runs off 53 balls against Tasmania at Newcastle, a century in the first innings and a fifty in the second innings at the SCG against South Australia.
Rohrer made his biggest impact in the Twenty20 format of the game, being one of NSW's most consistent batsmen. The highlight of the season was when he came into bat in the final against Victoria at ANZ Stadium with NSW in a difficult position chasing Victoria's score. He hit a rapid 44 off only 20 balls to be named man of the match as NSW took the match and the tournament.
As the winners of the domestic Twenty20 competition, Rohrer took part in the Blues charge towards victory in the inaugural Twenty20 Champions League. In the first game, a victory against South Africa's Diamond Eagles, Rohrer hit an unbeaten 22 runs off 15 balls including 2 fours and a six.[1] Rohrer scored 19 runs off 11 balls in the semi-final against Victoria which NSW to put them into the final against Trinidad and Tobago who beat NSW earlier in the tournament. In the final[2] NSW batted first and lost quick wickets for very few runs before Rohrer came in at number five and began the NSW revival with a 6 over fine leg before getting out for 16 runs off 12 balls. NSW won the tournament and $2.7 million with Rohrer expected to have taken around $50,000 to $100,000 from that money.
Rohrer is the number 3 Batsman for the Fairfield–Liverpool Lions in the Sydney Grade cricket.
Delhi Daredevils signed Rohrer for IPL season 6.[3]
In August 2018, Rohrer announced his retirement from all forms of cricket to take up a coaching role in Tasmania.[4]
