Bigg Boss (Tamil season 3)

Bigg Boss 3 was the third season of the reality TV game show Bigg Boss, which commenced on 23 June 2019 with 17 contestants (15 first-day entrants, 2 wildcard entrants, and 1 re–entrant). Kamal Haasan returned as host for the show third time.[1] The show was aired on Star Vijay. Hotstar also provided content aired on television. Compared to other Bigg Boss Tamil Seasons ( Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 2, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4) Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 was poorly received among the audiences and failed to generate the TRP success.

Season chronology

The house, located at EVP World in Chembarambakkam, Chennai, was completely renovated with a Chettinad-based theme for this season.[2] Mugen Rao of Malaysia won the title while Sandy from India emerged as the first runner-up.[3]

• ^Note 1 : There was no eviction during the first week.[7]
• ^Note 2 : Vanitha was given immunity from Week 2 eviction by host Kamal Haasan since she had been House Captain during the first week when there was no nomination process.[9]
• ^Note 3 : On Day 44, Saravanan was ejected from the show due to a controversial statement he made on Day 35 claiming that he had molested girls in buses when he was in college.[10]
• ^Note 4 : As the new entrant, Kasthuri was exempted from the Week 7 and 8 eviction processes.[11]
• ^Note 5 : On Day 50, Vanitha returned to the house as a wildcard entrant. She was exempted from the Week 8 and 9 nomination processes as a result.[12]
• ^Note 6 : On Day 54, Madhumitha was ejected from the show as she had apparently cut her hand as a result of a fight between her and the rest of the housemates except Cheran and Kasthuri. Hence, Sherin replaced Madhumitha as the Week 9 House Captain.[13]
• ^Note 7 : Kasthuri rejected the secret room offer. As a result, the eviction process for Week 10 was cancelled. However, the housemates did not know this and nominated the housemates they wished to be evicted that week.
• ^Note 8 : On Day 72, Abhirami, Mohan and Sakshi returned to the house as guests. Hence, they did not nominate anyone for the Week 11 eviction.
• ^Note 9 : Cheran was evicted through the public voting process, but in accordance with the Secret Room twist, he was moved to a separate room on Day 77 and stayed there for three days before re-entering the Bigg Boss House on Day 80 as a full housemate eligible to win.
• ^Note 10 : After Kavin accepted 5 lakh rupees given by Bigg Boss, he left the show on Day 94.
