Boynedale, Queensland

Boynedale is a rural locality in the Gladstone Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2016 census Boynedale had a population of 17 people.[1]

History

The locality takes its name from the Boyne River, which in turn was named on 14 November 182 3by Surveyor-General John Oxley on the cutter HM Mermaid.[2]

The Boynedale railway siding on the Byellee-to-Monto railway line (24.2160°S 151.2463°E / -24.2160; 151.2463 (Boynedale railway station)) closed on 8 December 1997.[2][3][4]

The locality was officially named and bounded on 27 August 1999.[2]

In the 2016 census Boynedale had a population of 17 people.[1]
