Chato, Tanzania
Chato[1] is a town in Geita Region of northwestern Tanzania. It is the administrative centre for Chato District.[2]

History
President John Magufuli (2015-present) was born in Chato on 29 October 1959.[3]
Prior to 2012, Chato, along with Chato District, was part of Kagera Region.
