College career
Lacasse played college soccer for the University of Iowa and was the schools top scorer during all her four seasons there.[1][2] She was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2013 and 2014 and an NSCAA first-team all-region honoree as a senior.[3]
Professional career
Lacasse started her professional career with ÍBV in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna in 2015.[4] In 2017, she won the Icelandic Cup with ÍBV.[5] She was one of the top players in the league during the 2018 season, scoring 10 goals in 17 matches.[6]
On 19 July 2019, Lacasse signed a two-year contract with Portuguese club Benfica in the Campeonato Nacional Feminino.[7][8]
International career
After receiving Icelandic citizenship in June 2019, the head coach of the Icelandic national team, Jón Þór Hauksson, stated that she would be considered for a call-up for the team's next games.[9] In July 2020, Jón Þór revealed that Lacasse did not fulfill FIFA's rules to be eligible for the national team but the Football Association of Iceland was working with her on that issue.[10]
Personal life
Lacasse was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario.[11][12] In 2017, Lacasse started working towards her application for an Icelandic citizenship.[13][14] In June 2019, the Judicial Affairs and Education Committee recommended that Lacasse would be given an Icelandic citizenship.[15][16] On 19 June she received her Icelandic citizenship[17] although she did not immediately receive clearance from FIFA to play with the national team.[18]
