Cochin, Saskatchewan
Cochin (2016 population: 148) is a resort village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within Census Division No. 17. It is on the shores of Jackfish Lake in the Rural Municipality of Meota No. 468.

History
Cochin incorporated as a resort village on January 1, 1988.[2]
Demographics
In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the Resort Village of Cochin recorded a population of 148 living in 80 of its 442 total private dwellings, a 21.3% change from its 2011 population of 122. With a land area of 1.35 km2 (0.52 sq mi), it had a population density of 109.6/km2 (283.9/sq mi) in 2016.[4]
In the 2011 Census of Population, the Resort Village of Cochin recorded a population of 122, a -41.3% change from its 2006 population of 208. With a land area of 1.35 km2 (0.52 sq mi), it had a population density of 90.4/km2 (234.1/sq mi) in 2011.[7]
Government
The Resort Village of Cochin is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the first Tuesday of every month.[3] The mayor is Harvey Walker and its administrator is Amber Loeppky.[3]
Transportation
The Cochin Bridge provides pedestrian access into the resort village.
