Darul Huda Islamic University
Darul Huda Islamic University is an Islamic University[1][2] based at Chemmad in the district of Malappuram, Kerala, India. The university is a member of the League of Islamic Universities and the Federation of the universities of the islamic world.[3][4] Prof. Dr. Bahauddeen Muhammed Nadwi is the Vice-Chancellor[5][6][7] and Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal serves as its Chancellor.[8]

Darul Huda was established in 1986 as an Islamic college, with the name Darul Huda Islamic Academy. Currently, it has affiliated institutes all across Kerala and other states in India including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka and Assam.[9] Besides the Malayalam speaking students of Kerala, it also serves Urdu speaking students of north India.[10] According to the Peninsula Qatar, the university has produced hundreds of proficient Islamic scholars aims at empowering the community with scholars versed in Islamic knowledge and modern sciences.[11] The university's contribution in the empowerment of Muslim community is also well recognized.[12]

Academics
Academic Courses
Darul Huda University offers a 12-year course that integrates religious education with general subjects.[14] The basic 12- year course is divided into four stages - a 2-year Preparatory course, a 4-year Secondary course, a 4-year Degree course and a 2-year PG course. The syllabus includes religious subjects such as Quran, Tajweed, Hadith, Usul ul-Hadith, Fiqh, Usul ul-Fiqh, Aqeeda, Tasawwuf, Nahvu, Sarf, Mantiq, Balagha and comparative studies of various religions, as well as secular subjects like Maths, Social Sciences, History, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition to this, Arabic, Urdu, English, and Malayalam are taught.
The government-approved degrees in secular subjects are taught in English .[15]
Women's education
Fathima Zahra Islamic Women's College is a girls institute specially for women. It was established in 1992.
Academic collaboration
Darul Huda has memberships in federations of global Islamic Universities including the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World [16] The university has signed Memorandum of Understandings with Indian universities like Aligarh Muslim University,[17] Jamia Millia Islamia,[18] Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu, Arabi-Farsi University [19] and Jawaharlal Nehru University [20] Delhi University among others[21] and with international universities including International Islamic University Malaysia and with the University of Kuwait. The Maulana Azad National Urdu University recognizes the courses of Darul Huda.[22][23]

Translation of the Qur’an in Malayalam is being published by DH Press.
Journals
Islamic Insight International Journal of Islamic Studies is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal with ISSN 2581-3269, published by the Faculty of Islamics and Human Sciences at the University. The subjects covered are Qur’anic Studies, Hadith Studies, Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic Theology, Islamic Mysticism, Philosophy, Comparative Religion, Islamic Social Sciences and Culture of Muslims.
Student life
Facilities for extracurricular activities like debates, discussions, oratory training, computer studies, and sports are also provided through its students Union (DSU).
Thelitcham Monthly
Thelitcham Monthly, is a student-focused magazine published by this University. Doctor Bahaudheen Nadwi is the editor-in-chief of the magazine.[24][25]
Annahda Arabic bi-monthly
Annahda is an Arabic bi-monthly magazine launched in August 2006 which is edited by Doctor N.A Muhammed Abdul Khader, Professor Emeritus at the University of Calicut.
Alumni
Dr. Faisal KP Hudawi was appointed as Director of Aligarh Muslim University Kerala branch recently in 2019.[26]

Established in 1986, Darul Huda has set up a number of feeder institutions from where it takes the brightest students after completion of their primary schooling and takes them through 12 years of grueling Islamic and modern education.
