Faridabad (Lok Sabha constituency)
Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency (Hindi: फ़रीदाबाद लोकसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is one of the 10 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Haryana state in northern India.
Voter demography
In 2014, this constituency had 11.5 lakh (1,125,000) voters, which are split as follows:[1]
- Hindus: 89 % (10.25 lakh)
- 22 % (2.50 lakh) Jats
- 17 % (2.00 lakh) Gujjars
- 17 % (2.00 lakh) scheduled castes (SC)
- 13 % (1.50 lakh) Brahmins
- 11 % (1.25 lakh) Punjabis
- 08 % (1.00 lakh) backward castes (BC).
- Muslim: 11 % (1.25 lakh) who are mostly Meos.
Assembly segments
At present, Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency comprises nine Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) constituencies. Hathin, Hodal and Palwal assembly seats are in Palwal district, while the remaining 6 seats are in Faridabad district of Haryana,:[2]
