For the Lord reigneth
"For the Lord reigneth" (German: "Nun preiset alle Gottes Barmherzigleit")[1] is a German Christian hymn written by Matthäus Apelles von Löwenstern in 1644.[2] It was translated into English in 1863 by Catherine Winkworth.[3] An altered version of this translation is known by the incipit "Now Let All Loudly Sing Praise."[4]
