Higashikagawa, Kagawa
Higashikagawa (東かがわ市, Higashikagawa-shi, lit."East Kagawa City") is a city located in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.

Demographics
As of May 2017, the city had an estimated population of 31,753 and a population density of 210 persons per km².[1][2]
History
The modern city was established on April 1, 2003, from the merger of three towns from the eastern part of former Ōkawa District: Hiketa, Ōchi and Shirotori. Ōkawa District was dissolved as a result of the formation of Higashikagawa.
Attractions
Higashikagawa is famed for its wasanbon production.
The area is the birthplace of cultured Amberjack of former Hiketa-cho.
A puppet Theater of Toramaru-za operates in former Ouchicho.
