Hojai massacre

Hajoi massacre (হোজাই গণহত্যাকাণ্ড) refers to the massacre of Bengali Hindu refugee settlers from East Pakistan in Hajoi in Hojai district in the Indian state of Assam on July 1993..[1] More than 100 Bengali Hindus were killed in the massacre. Assamese Hindus attacked Bengali Hindus and massacred them. The incident started with a tiff between a photo shop owner and a customer.[2] Another cause of this massacre was the Assamese Hindu's paranoia of being a minority ethnic group in their own lands being replaced by the Bengalis. During the massacre, the Bengali Hindus were killed in very brutal manners which included, being axed to death, being shot by arrows, beheaded by swords, shot, and being hacked to death by machetes and also hacked into pieces. The Brutality of the massacre is very well recorded.
