I Like It (Gerry and the Pacemakers song)
"I Like It" is the second single by Liverpudlian band Gerry and the Pacemakers. Like Gerry Marsden's first number one "How Do You Do It", it was written by Mitch Murray.[1] The song reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on 20 June 1963, where it stayed for four weeks.[2][3] It reached No. 17 in the American charts in 1964.[4]

Cover Versions
- In 1978, The Rezillos did a punk cover version on their debut album Can't Stand The Rezillos.
- In 1980, Depeche Mode had it in their early live set.
Uses in popular culture
It was used in the first part of two-part Australian miniseries called Peter Allen: Not The Boy Next Door that screened in 2015 on Channel Seven. A cover version of the song, sung by a child, was used in a Petits Filous advert in the late 1990s.
