The Airport is situated at
Alakia, between Adegbaiji community and Iwo road.
According to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), it was commissioned by Joseph Wayas, a former senate president of Nigeria in June 1982.[4]
The Ibadan VOR-DME (Ident: IBA) and non-directional beacon (Ident: IN) are located on the field.[5][6]
