Jean Prioleau

Jéan-Edúard Prioleau[1] (born March 30, 1970) is an American college basketball coach. On August 4, 2017, Prioleau was hired to be the head coach of the San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team after being an associate head coach at many different NCAA Division I colleges for 18 seasons.[2]

Prioleau was born in New York City and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey. A former student-athlete at Teaneck High School, Prioleau was named all-state third team and all-league as well as all-county first team by graduation.[3]

Prioleau committed to play for Fordham University from 1988–89 to 1991–92. Prioleau led the Rams to its fourth appearance in March Madness during the 1992 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, where the Rams lost 58–85 to UMass in the first round at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prioleau is second in all-time steals and scoring as well as fifth for all-time points. Prioleau graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics.[2]

Following his college career, Prioleau played two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Yakima Sun Kings, the Grand Rapids Hoops and the Sioux Falls Skyforce. In 55 games, his CBA career averages were 3.7 points and 1.8 assists per game.[4]
