Abilene Christian
Abilene Christian was a member of the Division I Southland Conference from 1968-73, and then dropped down to Division II's Lone Star Conference for a span of forty years (1973-2013).
In the last eight seasons, Golding, a former Wildcat player, has led Abilene Christian from the Lone Star Conference back into the Southland Conference and Division I basketball. Since the Wildcat's return to Division I, the program has shown steady improvement each year - culminating in the team's first winning regular-season since returning to Division I (16-15 in 2017-18) and setting the all-time school record for Division I wins (27) in the 2018-19 season. The previous record for Division I wins was 17. On February 13, 2019, ACU registered its first ever 20-win season in Division I. The following season (2019-20), ACU registered its first ever back-to-back 20-win seasons in Division I.
