Early years
Metchie was born in Taiwan and lived in Ghana and Canada before moving to the United States to attend high school.[1] He attended St. James School, Maryland in Hagerstown, Maryland and spent a post-graduate year at the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey.[2] Metchie committed to the University of Alabama to play college football.[3][4]
College career
As a true freshman at Alabama in 2019, Metchie played in all 13 games and had four catches for 23 yards.[5] Metchie became one of Alabama's top three receivers his sophomore year in 2020.[6][7]
