June Squibb
June Louise Squibb (born November 6, 1929) is an American actress. She is best known for her role in the film Nebraska (2013), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award, among other accolades.

Personal life
Squibb was born and raised in Vandalia, Illinois, the only child of JoyBelle (née Force; 1905–1996), a pianist for silent movies, and Lewis Squibb (1905–1996), who worked in insurance.[1][2]
Squibb married Edward Sostek, but they divorced. She later married Charles Kakatsakis (1929–1999), an acting teacher. They have a son, Harry, a filmmaker who made his short film Admissions. Squibb converted to Judaism in the 1950s and considers herself Jewish.[3][4] When asked about ageism in show business, Squibb has stated, "Well, it's like anything else. I always feel, rules are meant to be broken."[5]
Career
Squibb worked in musical theatre at the St. Louis Muny, and trained at the Cleveland Play House and HB Studio. While at the Cleveland Play House, she performed in productions of Marseilles, The Play's the Thing, Goodbye, My Fancy, The Heiress, Detective Story, Antigone, Ladies in Retirement and Bloomer Girl. In 1958, she played Dulcie in The Boyfriend Off-Broadway. In 1959, she starred in an Off-Broadway revival of Lend an Ear with Elizabeth Allen.[6] She made her Broadway debut in the original production of Gypsy starring Ethel Merman, taking over the role of stripper Electra in 1960. Squibb appeared in The Happy Time, which opened in 1968 and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical. In-between these periods, she did modeling work for romance novels and appeared in commercials.
In 1995, she appeared in the play Sacrilege on Broadway, which starred Ellen Burstyn. Squibb played many roles in national tours, regional theatre, summer stock and off-Broadway. In 2012, she played Stella Gordon in Dividing the Estate at the Dallas Theater Center in which she received standout reviews.[7] She returned to Broadway in 2018, playing the role of Old Josie in Waitress.[8]
She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the film Nebraska.[9][10] In 2015, she was inducted into the Cleveland Play House Hall of Fame.[11] Squibb stars in the Disney+ film Godmothered.[12]
