K7 Total Security, developed by K7 Computing Pvt. Ltd., is an Indian malware prevention and antivirus software, and provides malware prevention and removal during a subscription period and uses signatures and heuristics to identify viruses. Other features include a software firewall, e-mail spam filtering and phishing protection.

K7 Computing Pvt. Ltd. is a software and hardware security company founded in 1991 by Jayaraman Kesavardhanan in Chennai, India.[1][2]

The company has 90+ employees in its Chennai HQ with more employees all around the world. Software research and virus detection is handled by its own virus lab in Chennai.

K7 Computing is a member of AVAR (Association of Anti Virus Asia Researchers)[3] Jayaraman Kesavardhanan, Founder and CTO of K7 Computing was granted the Best Member Award in recognition of his significant contributions to AVAR for the year 2008 Chennai, TN, 16 December 2008[4] K7 Computing's Cloud Computing division built on windows platform, K7 Cloud Solutions was formed as a result of K7 Computing's acquisition of BinaryKarma, a Chennai, India based start-up working on products in the area of Virtualization Management.

J. Kesavardhanan serves as its Founder and Chief Technology Officer.[5]

K7 Computing has been developing antivirus software for 20 years.

The most recognized antivirus software from K7 Computing is K7 Total Security[6] which won AV-Comparatives Performance Test for 2010,[7] version 11 was released in February 2011 together with K7 Ultimate Security 11 and Antivirus Plus and Antivirus Premium. On 15 June 2011 K7 released Business Edition of its Antivirus security K7 Enterprise Security - Business orientated antivirus product offering remote management and installation.

Windows Edition

K7 Total Security, released 2002, was K7 Computing's first security suite for Windows PCs. The service at that time offered basic protection for Internet users such as Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Tools, Anti-Spam and Basic Firewall.

K7 Total Security 10 won the best performing antivirus for 2010 by AV-Comparatives[16] as well for 2011,[17] and K7 Antivirus Plus won in November 2011.[18] VB-100 award received in December 2011[13] and August 2012
