Khalid is signed to Right Hand Records and RCA Records.[1] On August 26, 2016, Khalid released his first single, "Location", from his debut album American Teen, which was released on March 3, 2017.[2] The song entered the top 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 16, and was certified four times platinum by Recording Industry Association of America.[3] The album also had two other singles, "Saved" and "Young Dumb & Broke", with the latter peaking at number 18 on US Billboard Hot 100. American Teen has been certified 3X Platinum in the US by RIAA.
Khalid scored his first three top 10s in the US with "1-800-273-8255", a collaboration with Logic and Alessia Cara, "Love Lies", a duet with Normani, from Love, Simon and "Eastside", a collaboration with Benny Blanco and Halsey. Khalid scored more hits with collaborations "Silence" with Marshmello and "Lovely" with Billie Eilish. Khalid released his second album Free Spirit in 2019 which included 2 more top 10 hits "Better" and "Talk".
