Killing of Pamela Turner

On May 13, 2019, an African American woman Pamela Turner was shot and killed by a police officer from Baytown, Texas.[1] The incident occurred at a parking lot of an apartment complex where both Turner and the shooter, Officer Juan Delacruz of the Baytown Police Department, were living at the time.[1][2] Video footage of the incident was captured by a bystander.[3] On September 14, 2020, a grand jury indicted Delacruz with aggravated assault by a public servant.[4][5]

The family has retained national civil rights attorneys Benjamin Crump and Devon Jacob.[6]
