Kosli
Kosli is a town and "tehsil" in the Rewari district of Haryana in India. It comes in Ahirwal (a region dominated by Ahir/Yadav community). It is situated 80 kilometers South-West from Delhi. Kosli Tehsil is part of National Capital Region. Kosli has what is believed to be Haryana's second largest flyover on Rewari - Hisar railway line. Kosli is 73rd largest constituency of Haryana. Kosli constituency has about 138 village.

Kosli - 'the mine of soldiers', known for the high proportion of soldiers and officers it contributes to the Indian Army, Police and other Armed Forces of India , and for the number of teachers it contributes to the Haryana education system.
History
According to Haryana State Gazetteer, Kosli was founded in 1193 A.D. by Kosal Dev Singh, the grandson of King of Delhi. Kosal Dev Singh said to have met the sage Baba Mukteshwar Puri, Kosli engaged in meditation at Koshalgarh Kosli, which was then a dense shrub jungle.
During British Raj there were as many as 70 senior Commissioned Officers and 150 Junior Commissioned Officers in Kosli. 247 soldiers from Kosli participated in the First World War between 1914-1918. Many have been decorated with medals, to quantify- 3 Indian Order of Merit, 1 Military Cross, 2 Ashoka Chakras, 1 Mahavir Chakras, 2 Shaurya Chakras, 4 COAS Commendation, 1 Police Medal. Village also includes several recipients of different military honours during British rule.[1] A large number of soldiers served in Burma during Second World War from the village. Naib Commandant Rao Ram Narayan Singh was conferred with the title of Rai Bahadur in 1924. A part of his house served as Officer's Mess for 40 years.
Religion
Kosli is inhabited by Hindus and town has many religious centres. Town has a mattha or Hindu monastery headed by a Mahant. Every year on the festive day of Holi a fair is organized in this matha to honor Baba Mukteshwar Puri, Kosli. Another fair called "Devi ka Mela" by localites, is organized during March every year. The Mata Temple is very old and is the centre of devotion for the people of Kosli. There is also an ancient Shiv Temple visited regularly by people in and around of town.

Transport
Kosli Railway Station is on the Rewari to Bhiwani railway line 30 km from Rewari. Doubling and electrification of the railway track is in progress at a fast pace and should be completed soon. Kosli is connected to Bhatinda, Jaipur, Hisar , Rewari, Sri Ganganagar, Bhiwani, Mathura via train. Major railway station around Kosli is Rewari, which allows connectivity to every part of country. The Ministry of Railways had bestowed honour to the martyrs by erecting mementos at station premises. One of the memento is dedicated to Lt Col Rai Singh of Kosli - Mahavir Chakra for 1967 war at Nathu La in Sino-Indian border dispute
Kosli also has bus depot for Haryana Roadways and is well connected to major cities like Rewari, Gurgaon, Delhi, Jaipur, Rohtak, Faridabad, Chandigarh, etc.[2]
