Lacey Waldrop
Lacey Waldrop (born March 6, 1993[1]) is an American, former collegiate All-American, right-handed professional softball pitcher originally from Chester, Virginia.[2][3][4] Waldrop was a starting pitcher for the FSU Seminoles in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the years 2011-15.[5] She is the school career leader in wins and in 2014 was named USA Softball Collegiate Player of The Year.[6] Waldrop later was selected #3 in the National Pro Fastpitch draft and played from 2015-18, winning two titles in 2015-16 with the Chicago Bandits. Waldrop is currently an Assistant Coach for the Houston Cougars softball team.[7]

Playing career
Born in Chester, Virginia,[1] she attended Thomas Dale High School, where she made the all-state softball team as a senior in 2011[8] and was named Player of the Week by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.[9]
Waldrop studied at and played for Florida State University from 2012 to 2015,[1] earning significant recognition, including winning seven All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honors,[1][10][11] three All-American honors,[1] and a tryout invitation for Team USA.[12][13] In 2014, the Amateur Softball Association and USA Softball named Waldrop the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.[14] She also won ACC Pitcher of the Year in both 2014 and 2015.[10][11]
Waldrop graduated with a bachelor's degree in Editing, Writing, and Media, with a minor in Communications.[15] During her time at Florida State, she was recognized for her academic achievements.[16][1][15]
After graduating, Waldrop was drafted third overall by the Chicago Bandits in the 2015 National Pro Fastpitch draft.[17] She went on to win the Cowles Cup with the Bandits in 2015.[18]
Coaching career
On July 6, 2017, Lacey Waldrop was announced as an addition to the Duke softball staff as an assistant coach.[19]
