Attorney General
Soon after the PPP came to power after the 2008 elections Khosa was appointed attorney-general for Pakistan. He has also served as advisor of information technology of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
Resignation
On 20 July 2010, advisor to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Information Technology Sardar Latif Khosa sent his resignation to the President after developing disagreements with the premier.
Politics
Khosa has been very active in bar politics and his group has won important Supreme Court Bar Association and Pakistan Bar Council elections over the last 30 years. He has been elected as the president of High Court Bar thrice and as member Pakistan Bar Council three times (15 years).
He has held the portfolios of a minister, advisor and attorney general in the Government of Pakistan and Governor of Punjab in that province.
Khosa was also instrumental in the lawyers' movement for the restoration of dozens of senior judges sacked by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in 2007. The choice of his appointment came after the PPP acquiesced to the PML-N's 10-point agenda to improve performance of the federal government.[6]
Khosa was elected as the general secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party on 23 March 2013. He is also the chairman of the election monitoring cell of Pakistan Peoples Party.
