In 2006, Laurel High School was recognized as a Superior School by the Delaware Department of Education, and as one of America's Best High Schools in 2008, by U.S. News & World Report. Their students have been recognized for "their school and community service, sportsmanship, and performance in the classroom and on the competition field."
