Lepidonotothen mizops
The toad notie (Lepidonotothen mizops) is a species of notothen native to the Southern Ocean. It is a demersal fish known to occur around the Heard Islands and the Kerguelen Islands. It can be found at depths from 20 to 220 m (66 to 722 ft). This species grows to a standard length of 15 cm (5.9 in).[1]

The toad notie is distinguished by two series of large, partly confluent, and irregular dark spots on its body. This species has two oblique dark stripes on its cheek. It has 4-5 dorsal spines with a blackish spot on the spines. [2]
The toad notie spawns from May to June and occasionally to July. The eggs have a diameter of greater than 1.65 mm. It is of no interest to commercial fisheries.[2]
