List of Israeli settlements with city status in the West Bank
The four largest settlements have city status (pop. 18,000+), smaller towns have local councils, while towns with a population between 2,000 and 10,000 that do not have local council status are designated Jewish localities. The international community considers Israeli settlements illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.[1]
