This is a list of best-selling game consoles by region. This page consists of countries in Asia, North America, Europe, and other PAL regions, also adding NTSC regions. PAL, short for Phase Alternating Line, is a colour encoding system for analogue television used in broadcast television systems in most countries broadcasting at 576i, such as Europe and Asia. NTSC, named after the National Television System Committee, is the analog television color system that was used in North America from 1954 and until digital conversion.
