List of offenders executed in the United States in 2021

This is a list of offenders executed in the United States in 2021. As of February 6, 2021, three inmates have been executed in the United States in 2021, all by lethal injection.[1] In addition, eight death row inmates are currently scheduled to be executed in the remainder of the year, five by lethal injection, and three to be determined.[2] Four executions are scheduled in the state of Texas,[3] one is scheduled in the state of Alabama,[4] and three are scheduled in the state of Ohio.[5] However, it is highly unlikely the executions in Ohio will go ahead due to the unofficial moratorium currently in place on capital punishment in Ohio by Governor Mike DeWine.[6]

Two executions had been scheduled in the state of Tennessee,[7] however, both have been stayed indefinitely because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[8] Two executions in Texas were also stayed in order to review intellectual disability claims.[9][10] Another execution was stayed in the state of South Carolina because the state did not have the lethal injection drugs required to carry out the execution.[11][12]
