This is a list of notable people who have or had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative neuromuscular disease that results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles.

Astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, whose ALS was diagnosed in 1963, had ALS for 55 years, the longest recorded time. He died at the age of 76 in 2018.
