List of tallest buildings in San Antonio
The U.S. city of San Antonio, Texas is home to 93 high-rises, 8 of which are skyscrapers that stand at least 328 feet (100 m) feet tall. The tallest structure in the city, excluding radio antennas, is the Tower of the Americas, standing 750 feet (229 m) tall. The history of skyscrapers in San Antonio began with the construction of the Tower Life Building (originally the Smith-Young Tower) in 1928, which is often regarded as the first skyscraper in the city. A proposed skyscraper, the Frost Bank Tower, is set to become the fifth-tallest building (not including The Tower of Americas) in the city and second-tallest office building in city upon completion in 2019. Other proposed towers in the central city are Villita Tower a 32-story residential tower,[1] Canopy by Hilton, a 24-story tower on the Riverwalk[2] and the 21-story Thompson Hotels & Residences.[3] In early October 2017, notice of a 900 ft/274m Ferris wheel/observation wheel was given to the FAA for an area south of Downtown San Antonio.
