Luni, Balochistan
Luni, pronounced "Looni", is a village in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is located about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) north of the city of Sibi in Sibi District of Balochistan Province, at an altitude of 495 feet (151 m).
This village is inhabited by the Loni tribe of Pashtuns. The elders of the tribe, led by one Asad Khan Luni, migrated from near Moqor in Afghanistan in the 1660s and settled in Sibi. The population in 2011 was 1875 in 302 households.[1] The tribe and the village is currently led by Abdulaziz khan luni, a senior retired bureaucrat.Luni tribe defeated the Marri tribe several times during the 19th century. Luni tribe is currently the most educated tribe of Sibi division since 19th century.
