Melanie Smith (equestrian)
Melanie Smith (born September 23, 1949) is an equestrian from the United States and Olympic champion.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Smith qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team but did not compete due to the U.S. Olympic Committee's boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Russia. She was one of 461 athletes to receive a Congressional Gold Medal instead.[1] Smith won a gold medal in show jumping with the American team at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.[2]
Supersister
In 1979, the Supersisters trading card set was produced and distributed; one of the cards featured Smith's name and picture.[3]
