Mid Western University
Mid-Western University is a state-run university in Surkhet, the regional headquarters of the Karnali Province of Nepal, formerly the headquarters of the midwestern development region of Nepal. As part of the Nepal government's policy to establish regional universities to expand easy access of higher education to the people of this region, the government of Nepal formed a team on 07-12-2007 to establish Mid-Western University in Birendranagar by 2009.[1]

It is an autonomous and public higher education institution whose mission is to serve the Nepalese people and enrich the global learning community by expanding the advantages of higher education.
History
The parliamentary act, established by the Nepalese government on June 17, 2010, based on the concept of a multi-university system, is a state-backed institution based on land donated by the Nepalese government. The campus of the university and Central Executive Office is located in Birendranagar, in the Surkhet district of Nepal.
Although the Mid-Western University is still in the development stage and has a long way to go before it is fully operational, the university still receives great political support from existing political parties, and most importantly, it has received extensive enthusiastic participation and support from local people. . The establishment of the Mid-Western University represents the realization of the dreams of the people of the region, and they have shown an example of applause through their contribution to the fundraising plan for the establishment of the university. In addition, the university has received strong support from existing campuses throughout the region: the land, property, human resources and students of the existing Tribhuvan affiliate campus in the region have been merged at the university. Aware of these extraordinary and beneficial situations, universities aim to promote learning and dissemination of knowledge and promote the overall well-being of the country.
In these years of study with a variety of professional lecturers and researchers, the university aims to help students improve their abilities, promote the overall development of their abilities and personality, and give them a deeper understanding of their future role in society.
In the long run, the university is committed to becoming an academic centre of excellence in academic, teaching and research. Its main goal is to build a learning culture in the country and to extend and disseminate the benefits of knowledge by providing access to the entire community. The university also aims to build a community of scholars, students and staff in which understanding and wisdom can expand and prosper.
In response to Nepal's specific social and economic background and the requirements of international higher education standards, the university strives to implement academic and on-the-job courses that meet these needs. Under the guidance of providing students with quality and employment education, the university system is linked to community services, and the courses and courses offered by MU are designed to meet these requirements and standards in every possible area. Academic programs are developed in consultation with community citizens, education and business leaders, and relevant ministries of the Nepalese government.

Administration
Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh is the current VC. Padam Lal Devkota was appointed as the first vice chancellor. He served the university for about two years before leaving after some controversy. With the recent appointment of Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh as the vice-chancellor and Assoc. Prof. Yam Bahadur Karki registrar, the university is fully functional. Admission for the streams has been started. The vice-chancellor is the highest-ranking executive at the university because the chancellor of universities in Nepal is the prime minister, at present he is KP Sharma Oli.
Governing bodies
University Senate
The University Senate (US) is the university's top management and decision-making body. In its role, the Senate develops and approves university policies, provides guidance to universities and their institutions, and determines and evaluates academic programs. The Senate also determines and awards degrees awarded by the university, determining the number of teachers, administrators and employees, and the terms and conditions of the service. It discusses and approves university annual budget proposals and audit reports, as well as reviews and approves annual reports of university institutions.
The Mid-Western University Senate is composed of several members. The president of the university, Prime Minister Hon'ble of Nepal, is the chairman of the university's Senate, and the principal, Hon'ble Minister of Education, is the vice chairman. The vice-chancellor and the registrar sit with representatives of the dean and academic representatives in the University Senate, local members, university authorities, educators and student organizations, representatives of businessmen, donors and trustees.
Service Commission
The Service Committee (SC) is responsible for reviewing the qualifications of nominating candidates and determining the choice of teaching staff. After consultation with the Executive Committee and the dean of each department, the Service Committee recommends that candidates be approved by the vice-chancellor, appoint and recommend the assignment of new ranks to new teachers, and promote and further promote them according to their academic authority.
Academic Council
The Academic Council (AC) is the guardian of the university's academic policies, rules and regulations. It advises the vice chancellor of academic affairs and deals with all matters relating to the university's academic policies, rules and regulations. Thus, it is the university's main educational and educational authority.
The Academic Council assists the university in the management and management of its academic, academic and research work, decides on academic policies and practices regarding curriculum and teaching, examinations and research. The council determines and maintains the university's learning and teaching standards in terms of quality of curriculum and teaching materials, governs the types of examinations, methods of assessment, size of classrooms, and entry requirements of students, qualifications and qualifications. All approved recommendations are effective on the approval of the Executive Council.
There are eleven members in the academic council, while vice chancellors are presidents. Presidents, campus chiefs, teaching staff and representatives of highly renowned scholars are appointed by the president of the Academic Council.
Executive Council
Executive Council (EC) is the executive body of the university that enforces the Senate's decisions and instructions. The Election Commission is concerned with all issues related to the administrative areas of the university, such as preparation and preparation of annual budget and programs, progress and audited report. It is responsible for preparing the rules, regulations and other proposals to run the university smoothly. On the recommendation of the service commission, appoint teachers and staff as required by the university. It also determines the fee structure and plans of the students.
There are four members in the Executive Council. Appellate Commission
The Appellate Commission (AC) has a judicial mission because its main function is to hear and resolve disputes of the teaching staff and administrative personnel against the decisions of the University Service Commission. The decisions of the commission are binding. However, in the case of dissatisfaction with the Appellate Commission's decisions, the appellant can approach the Supreme Court for the final decision.
Planning and Development Council
The Planning and Development Council is responsible for overseeing the overall university development strategy by coordinating the projects of the university's Enhanced Capital Development and Essential Capital Resources.
The council promotes relations with the foreign community, in an effort to ensure its support for various projects of the university. It monitors the status of funded projects, prepares audited reports requested by funding agencies and provides assistance to faculty, departments and individual teachers in preparing proposals for sponsored academic programs and research projects. The council plans the university's long-term development strategy, proposes budgetary and financial matters, and studies on sources of funding for planning and development.
There are various representatives among senior teachers, campus heads, teaching and highly renowned scholars in the Planning and Development Council. Specially, three of the senior teachers will be appointed by the vice chancellor of the MU. Finally, the Planning Council is accountable to the vice chancellor.
