Mirgor is an Argentinean technological company dedicated to manufacturing, commercialization and distribution of consumer electronics, auto parts and the export of agricultural commodities and oilseeds.

Mirgor is based in the province of Tierra del Fuego, with factories in Rosario City and headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina.[6] It encompasses six business units: Mirgor Manufacturing, Mirgor Retail, Mirgor Logistics (Mirlog), Mirgor Distribution, Mirgor Innovation and Mirgor Agriculture.[7][8]
Its main products are vehicle air conditioning units, infotainment, Smart TVs, cell phones, medical equipment and other technology appliances. The firm has been diversifying along the way into the logistics, distribution, agribusiness and retail.[9][10]
As a public company, Mirgor shares have been listed on the stock exchange since 1994.[11][12]
Business Units
Mirgor Manufacturing
Six production plants dedicated to the manufacture of products for the automotive industry, mobile telephony and consumer electronics.
Regarding the car production, the company is subdivided into 3 units: wheel assembly, infotainment and air conditioning.[13][14] Some of its main clients are Toyota, Fiat and Volvo[15] and Peugeot and Citroën, for whom it provides electronic modules.[16] In 2017, it earned the IATF 16949:2016 Certification, one of the most important certifications in the automotive industry.[17] Mirgor was the first South American company to obtain this. The IATF 16949:2016 complements another relevant certification which is the ISO 9001:2015.[18]
The company produces Samsung cell phones and Smart TVs for the consumer electronics market.[15][19]
Mirgor Retail
For more than 5 years the group has been in charge of the official Samsung E-Commerce channels as well as dealing with resellers, department stores across the country, mobile network operators and sales and customer care.[15][20] The company has developed Samsung’s own marketplace in Argentina (it is called Diggit).[21]
Mirgor Logistics
Mirgor has its own logistics and distribution center located in Garín, Province of Buenos Aires, which has 12000m2 covered and 3,000m2 for bulk storage.[22][10]
Mirgor Distribution
Mirgor Distribution distributes all its own manufactured products as well as offers services of local distribution and international commercialization, to other manufacturers, retailers, resellers, telephone operators and other third parties.[23]
Mirgor Agriculture
In 2019 Mirgor began exporting commodities, firstly wheat and soybeans.[24] Then it started to export corn.[25][12]
Mirgor Innovation
Mirgor Innovation is a division that develops advanced engineering, software engineering and mechanical engineering projects. The most relevant developments include four vehicle infotainment platforms.[12] As part of the Mirgor Innovation Unit, the company developed the Artificial Respirators project during the COVID 19 Pandemic.[26]
History
Mirgor S.A.C.I.F.I.A. began its activities in 1983 by installing its first industrial plant in the city of Río Grande, Province of Tierra del Fuego, intended to provide air conditioning systems for the automotive industry.[27][28]
In 1995 Mirgor acquired Interclima S.A. (“Interclima”), its main supplier of heat exchangers. Around 2004 the diversification process began with the production of home air conditioning.[27] In 2006 it began its clumping activity for General Motors at its Rosario plant.[29][30]
In 2009 the Group acquired Industria Austral de Tecnología S.A. ("IATEC"), a company that is dedicated to the consumer electronics industry. In 2010 this company made an agreement with Nokia (currently Microsoft) for the production of cell phones.[31] In 2011, through the agreement reached with LG, the production of televisions began.[32]
In 2012 the production of audio and video equipment was initiated and in 2013[31] started the production of notebooks for the Dell brand.[33] The company also engaged in manufacturing consumer electronics such as home air conditioners, microwaves, televisions and cell phones.[15]
In July 2014, the Company through its subsidiary IATEC started the production of Samsung cell phones and electronic products for automobiles under the “Pioneer” brand,[27] while in 2015 the production of Samsung Smart TVs.[31]
In 2017 the Group company GMRA S.A. (“GMRA”) was created for the commercialization at the retail level of all kinds of electronic, electric and cellphone products, through online sales channels, shopping centers and street stores.[15]
In 2019 Mirgor acquired Holdcar S.A. (“Holdcar”), which among its assets has Famar Fueguina S.A. ("Famar") and Electrotécnica Famar S.A.C.I.I.E. ("Electrotécnica").[34] Famar produces radios, infotainment, electronic control modules and alarms for the automotive industry at its plant in Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego.[35] Additionally, it produces residential modems and cell phones.[36] Through advanced engineering, Electrotécnica designs and develops hardware and software that are integrated to the automotive devices manufactured by Mirgor.[37]
In October 2020 Mirgor announced the acquisition of the firm Brightstar, including Brightstar Argentina S.A and Brightstar Fueguina S.A, with their manufacturing and commercialization operations of Samsung and LG cell phones in Tierra del Fuego, among other complementary services.[38]
