Nagrakata
Nagrakata is a village in the Nagrakata CD block in the Malbazar subdivision of the Jalpaiguri district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Location
It is located at 26.8869°N 88.9067°E at an elevation of 214 m above MSL.[3]
National Highway 31C passes through Nagrakata. It is a station on the New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar-Samuktala Road Line.
Area overview
Gorumara National Park has overtaken traditionally popular Jaldapara National Park in footfall and Malbazar has emerged as one of the most important towns in the Dooars. Malbazar subdivision is presented in the map alongside. It is a predominantly rural area with 88.62% of the population living in rural areas and 11.32% living in the urban areas.[4][5]Tea gardens in the Dooars and Terai regions produce 226 million kg or over a quarter of India's total tea crop. Demographics
As per the 2011 Census of India, Nagrakata had a total population of 356. There were 169 (47%) males and 187 (53%) females. There were 53 persons in the age range of 0 to 6 years. The total number of literate people in Nagrakata was 174 (57.43% of the population over 6 years).[11]
Economy
Nagrakata, 75 km from Siliguri, has been a major hub of tea trading, with numerous tea gardens in the area – Chengmari, Kurti, Bhagatpur, Nagrakata, Jiti, Hope, Naya Sailee, Hilla, Grassmore, Ghatia, Loosan, Dharnipur and many others. With so many tea gardens in the area, Nagrakata has started attracting tourists. Tea Research Association is located here.

Banarhat Kartik Oraon Hindi Government College was established at Banarhat in 2014. Affiliated with the University of North Bengal, it is a Hindi-medium institution offering courses in arts and science.[12]
