Patriot Taruna: Virgo and the Sparklings

Patriot Taruna: Virgo and the Sparklings is an upcoming Indonesian superhero film produced by Bumilangit Studios and Screenplay Films.[1] It was announced in 2019 as part of the Volume 1 films in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe film series which began with the release of Gundala.[2]

Production

Joko Anwar, who wrote and directed Gundala, was announced as the executive producer who will oversee the development of all Volume 1 films in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe, including Patriot Taruna: Virgo and the Sparklings.[3] Anwar then announced Ody C. Harahap as the film's director in November 2019,[4] two months after a nationwide talent search for the film's co-stars was announced in September.[5] In April 2020, the principal cast members was unveiled to the public.[6]

Release

The film was originally slated for a mid-2020 release, but was delayed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[7]
