"Remedy" is the second song, and the first released single, from the The Black Crowes' second album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion. It reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart in May 1992 and stayed there for 11 weeks. On the Billboard Hot 100, the song peaked at number 48. It also reached number 24 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the band's highest-charting single in the United Kingdom, and became a top-10 hit in New Zealand and Norway.

"Remedy" can be heard on the fictional radio station Liberty Rock Radio 97.8 in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV. The song was also used in commercials promoting the ESPN series Tilt, and as the theme song for the Howard Stern Wrap-Up Show on Sirius XM Radio.

Its video, directed by Pete Angelus, appeared in an episode of Beavis and Butt-Head in 1994.
