Sanjin Prcić

Sanjin Prcić (Bosnian pronunciation: [sâɲin přtsitɕ]; born 20 November 1993) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ligue 1 club Strasbourg and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Prcić started his professional career at Sochaux, before joining Rennes in 2014. The following year, he was loaned to Torino, and a year later to Perugia. Two years later, he moved to Levante. In 2019, he had a loan spell at Strasbourg, with whom he signed permanently later that year.

A former youth international for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prcić made his senior international debut in 2014.

Club career

Early career

Prcić came through Sochaux's youth academy, which he joined in 2001.[4] He tore the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee in September 2012, which kept him sidelined his whole first senior season.[5] He made his debut against Ajaccio on 31 August 2013 at the age of 19.[6] He scored his first goal against Montpellier on 30 October.[7]

Prcić signed a four-year contract with Rennes on 31 July 2014 for an undisclosed fee.[8] He provided two assists on his debut for the club against Évian.[9] He scored his first goal for Rennes on 25 April 2015 in a win over Nice.[10]

Prcić was sent on a season-long loan to Serie A club Torino on 1 September 2015 with an option to make the move permanent on the last day of the 2015 summer transfer window.[11] In January 2016, he was loaned to Perugia until the end of season.[12]

Upon returning from his loan spells, Prcić managed to secure a first-team place at Rennes.[13]

In January 2018, it was announced that Prcić would leave Rennes at the end of season, following the decision to not renew his contract.[14]

Levante

Prcić signed three-year contract with Spanish club Levante on 1 August 2018 on free transfer.[15] Two weeks later, he made his debut for the club against Real Betis.[16]

Strasbourg

Prcić was sent on a six-month loan to Strasbourg in January 2019.[17] He scored on his debut for the team against Angers on 9 February.[18] Prcić won his first trophy with the club on 30 March, by beating Guingamp in the 2019 Coupe de la Ligue Final.[19]

Prcić was transferred to Strasbourg permanently on 2 September 2019 for an undisclosed fee.[20]

International career

Prcić represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at all youth levels. He also served as captain of all the country's youth selections.[21]

Prcić received his first senior call-up in August 2014 for matches against Liechtenstein and Cyprus.[22] He made his debut in a friendly win over the former on 4 September.[23]
