As the entire route is electrified, a Santragachi Junction based WAP-4 electric locomotive pulls the train up to Visakhapatnam, then a Erode Junction or Arakkonam Junction based WAP-4 electric locomotive takes reverse direction and pulls the train up to Mangalore.[5]
