Sergey Abramov (politician)

Sergey Borisovich Abramov (Russian: Серге́й Бори́сович Абра́мов; born February 29, 1972) is a Moscow-based executive of Russian Railways and a former politician.

Abramov is a graduate of the Tashkent State University of Economics. In 2002, during the presidency of Akhmad Kadyrov thirty-year-old Abramov was appointed minister of finance of the Chechen Republic.[1] In 2004, after the assassination of Kadyrov, Abramov temporarily chaired the government of the republic and himself survived a series of assassination attempts.[1] On November 18, 2005 Abramov survived a near-fatal car crash in Moscow and temporarily disappeared from public view.

As of November 2010, Abramov chairs the Directorate of Railway Terminals of Russian Railways, and manages an ambitious program of rebuilding the stations in major cities.[1]
