Sky Fides

The Sky Fides is a Czech single-place paraglider, designed and produced by Sky Paragliders of Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. It is now out of production.[1]

Design and development

The Fides was designed as a beginner glider. The models are each named for their approximate wing area in square metres.[1]

Operational history

Reviewer Noel Bertrand described the Fides in a 2003 review as "pleasant to fly, high performance and well built."[1]

Fides 26
Small-sized model for lighter pilots. Its 10.96 m (36.0 ft) span wing has a wing area of 26.57 m2 (286.0 sq ft), 38 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.5:1. The optimal pilot weight is 70 kg (154 lb). The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
Fides 28
Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its 11.4 m (37.4 ft) span wing has a wing area of 28.74 m2 (309.4 sq ft), 38 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.5:1. The optimal pilot weight is 85 kg (187 lb). The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
Fides 30
Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 11.81 m (38.7 ft) span wing has a wing area of 30.84 m2 (332.0 sq ft), 38 cells and the aspect ratio is 4.5:1. The optimal pilot weight is 100 kg (220 lb). The glider model is DHV 1 certified.[1]
