St. Gabriel Catholic Church
St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Known for its historic church located along LA 75, it is also the mother church for Sacred Heart Chapel in Carville, built on the grounds of the former leper colony there.

Completed in 1776, St. Gabriel's is thought to be the oldest existing church building in the whole Louisiana Purchase Territory.[2][3]
