Sujit Mondal

Sujit Mondal is an Indian film director in Bengali cinema. He started his career as an assistant director with renowned Bollywood directors. From 2009 He started directing Bengali feature films and earned critical and commercial success for the films like Saat Paake Bandha(2009), Bolo Na Tumi Aamar (2009), Shedin Dekha Hoyechilo (2010), Paglu 2 (2012) etc.

Early life and education

Sujit Mondal was born on 5 October in Kolkata to a Bengali family. He completed his study in Kolkata and later he shifted in Mumbai. Then he started assisting director Shakti Shamanta and later he joined Bhat camp as an assistant director.

Career

Sujit directed his debut feature film Saat Paake Bandha in 2009 with Jeet and Koel. In 2009 he directed another film Bolo Na Tumi Aamar. His next releases, Shedin Dekha Hoyechilo and Romeo were commercially success in West Bengal. In 2012 his directorial venturePaglu 2 was a romantic comedy drama. In 2014 he directed horror thriller film Arundhati. In 2019, He already completed two film Anweshan starring Rituparna Sengupta and Priyanka Sarkar and Stupid starring Bonny Sengupta and Koushani Mukherjee which are set to release in 2020 and recently he is filming his 13th film with Yash Dasgupta and Priyanka Sarkar.
