Sweden in the Turkvision Song Contest

Sweden has never participated in the Turkvision Song Contest. The country was expected to debut in the contest at the Turkvision Song Contest 2016, to be held in Istanbul. However, the 2016 edition was cancelled. They instead intended to debut at the Turkvision Song Contest 2020, only to withdraw when Arghavan's performance video wasn't deemed up to the standards of the contest.[1]

2016

On 25 October 2016, it was announced that Sweden will debut at the 2016 contest in Turkey. The same day it was announced that Arghavan with the song "Dirçəliş" will fly the Swedish to Turkey.[2]
