Birds in this genus have mostly drab coloration and display secretive behavior, keeping ensconced in vegetation most of the time. Species can be difficult to distinguish from one another on the basis of their similar plumage; however, they can often be told apart by their vocalizations, which can be quite distinctive.[1]
