Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award

The Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award is an annual award given to the best pitcher in minor league baseball's Texas League. In 1933, George Darrow won the first ever Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award.

Ten players from the New York/San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball (MLB) organization have won the Pitcher of the Year Award, more than any other, followed by the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers organization (9); the St. Louis Cardinals organization (7); the Houston Colt .45's/Astros organization (6); the New York Mets and San Diego Padres organizations (4); the California Angels/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Browns/Baltimore Orioles, and Texas Rangers organizations (3); the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Braves, and Seattle Marinersorganizations (2); and Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, and Oakland Athletics organizations (1). Five pitchers won the award on teams that were not affiliated with a major league team.
